Validity:
The monuments included in Giotto Pass can be visited within 3 calendar days from the date selected.
NB. Holders of Giotto Pass must access the time-slot chosen at the start of the time in order to climb Giotto's Bell Tower.
Reservations cannot be changed.
Useful Info:
Giotto’s Bell Tower
• The ascent consists on foot along a stairway of 414 steps. No lifts (elevators) are available.
• The climb is strongly NOT recommended for people with cardiovascular, respiratory diseases, vertigo, claustrophobia, and pregnant women.
• Minors (<18) cannot access without an adult.
• The recommended duration for the visit is approximately 45 minutes.
NB. Closed from 11 to 15 november 2024, due to maintenance works.
Baptistery
• Access from the North Door (Martelli street side).
• Appropriate clothing is required for a place of worship: access is not permitted with bare legs and shoulders, wearing sandals or hats.
• The recommended duration for the visit is approximately 30 minutes.
NB. Every first Sunday of the month the Baptistery closes at 2.00 pm.
DM. Visitors are advised that the Baptistery is undergoing restoration of the mosaics of the vault, which are not visible.
Opera del Duomo Museum
• Access from Piazza del Duomo n. 9.
• The Museum consists of 28 rooms distributed on three floors that can be accessed with stairways or elevators.
• The recommended duration for the visit is approximately 60-90 minutes.
DM. Closed on the first Tuesday of each month.
Santa Reparata
• Access from the Cathedral “Porta Campanile” (south side, beside the Bell Tower entrance).
• Visitors arrive to Santa Reparata by going down a short staircase in the second bay of the right aisle of the Cathedral.
• The recommended duration for the visit is about 30 minutes.
NB. Visitors will be able to access the monuments exclusively without luggage. It will be MANDATORY to leave suitcases, backpacks, parcels, containers and large and medium-sized bags and other types of objects in the Luggage Storage (Piazza Duomo n. 38/r ).
Practical Information
Giotto’s Bell Tower: The ascent is along a stairway of 414 steps and there is no lift. The climb is strongly NOT recommended for people with cardiovascular, respiratory diseases, vertigo, claustrophobia, and pregnant women. Holders of Giotto Pass must access the time slot chosen at the time of purchase to climb Giotto's Bell Tower (not modifiable). The entry time to the Bell Tower is the start time of the booked time-slot.
Baptistery: Access from the North Door; NB. Visitors are advised that the Baptistery is undergoing restoration of the mosaics of the vault, which are not visible. Every first Sunday of the month the Baptistery closes at 2:00pm.
Opera del Duomo Museum: Access from Piazza del Duomo n. 9. The Museum is closed every first Tuesday of the month.
Santa Reparata: Access from the Cathedral “Porta Campanile” (beside Bell Tower entrance).
Cathedral is free to enter: Monday-Saturday 10.15am - 3.45pm. Closed on Sundays and during religious holidays. Visitors are reminded that clothing appropriate for a place of worship is required to enter the Cathedral: access is not permitted with bare legs and shoulders, wearing sandals and hats. Closed on 20 and 21 November, 2024.
NB. Visitors, before entering the monuments, must MANDATORY leave inside the Luggage Storage (Piazza Duomo n. 38/r) suitcases, backpacks, parcels, containers and large and medium-sized bags and other types of objects. See the complete regulation here. NB. The ticket allows ONE access per monument.
