GENERAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT FOR THE ISSUE OF ENTRANCE TITLES TO THE MONUMENTAL COMPLEX OF OPERA DI SANTA MARIA DEL FIORE
1. OBJECTIVE
This contract intends to regulate the tickets' purchase for the entrance to the Monumental Complex of Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore (both online and ticket office).
The Tickets are divided into:
- Brunelleschi Pass: includes the Dome, Opera del Duomo Museum, Baptistery, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Ancient Basilica of Santa Reparata;
- Giotto Pass: includes Opera del Duomo Museum, Baptistery, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Ancient Basilica of Santa Reparata;
- Ghiberti Pass: includes Opera del Duomo Museum, Baptistery and the Ancient Basilica of Santa Reparata;
- Ghiberti Pass 'On-site': includes Opera del Duomo Museum and the Baptistery;
- Cathedral entrance;
- Guided tours.
2. PRICES AND PURCHASE METHODS
By purchasing the ticket's entrance, the buyer will have the right to enter the monument chosen.
The cost is different for each ticket:
- Brunelleschi Pass: 30€ for full price ticket and 12€ for reduced price ticket.
- Giotto Pass: 20€ for full price ticket and 7€ for reduced price ticket.
- Ghiberti Pass: 15€ for full price ticket and 5€ for reduced price ticket.
- Ghiberti Pass: 'On-site' 15€ for full price ticket and 5€ for reduced price ticket. This ticket is available only at the ticket office of Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore (Piazza San Giovanni, 7).
- Cathedral entrance is free and no reservation is required, the access is subject to the rules of security.
- Guided tours: the subject and prices of tour can change at the discretion of Opera; these general conditions are valid if you buy a guided tour ticket directly from our web site. Instead, you can write to booking@duomo.firenze.it.
Free access: minors under the age of 6 years have free access and others free tickets (see point 4).
Reduced price ticket: children between 7 and 14 years. Students of all levels, Italian and foreign, showing at the ticket office a Student Card or similar document (eg: university booklet), can buy Ghiberti Pass at reduced price (5€).
All the other tickets' entrance can be purchased online on the website www.tickets.duomo.firenze.it or at the ticket office of Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore. Those tickets are intended to the final customer and no invoice will be issued. If you want to buy more tickets with invoice, write to: booking@duomo.firenze.it.
The entrance ticket is not transferable to third parties, nor may it be purchased through an authorized representative/agent, except by commercial agreement signed specifically for this purpose and authorized by Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore.
3. BOOKING A VISIT TO THE MONUMENTS
Reservations are mandatory in order to visit all the monuments, except for Cathedral according to point 2.
Brunelleschi Pass requires choosing both the date and the time of visit; in any case, reservations are allowed until all available places are exhausted at the Dome.
Giotto Pass requires choosing both the date and the time of visit; in any case, reservations are allowed until all available places are exhausted at the Bell Tower.
Ghiberti Pass requires choosing both the date and the time of visit; in any case, reservations are allowed until all available places are exhausted at Santa Reparata.
Ghiberti Pass ‘On-Site’ do not require book a time-slot, just the date of visit; this ticket is available only at the ticket office - Piazza San Giovanni, no. 7 - and just once the availability of Ghiberti Pass is over: there's no online availability.
Users can book the visit both at the time of purchase online ticket as well as of purchase at the ticket office. The reservation cannot be changed and/or cancelled.
Opera, at its own discretion, can establish a limit of tickets for a single transaction that can be purchased online.
4. FREE TICKETS
Therefore, only the following visitors have the right to free entrance:
- People with disabilities; the gratuity is also for a companion evaluating the real need for support. You can write to: accessibilita@duomo.firenze.it;
- Law enforcement, only during the performance of their duties in regular service;
- Priests, religious men and women;
- Tourist Guide qualified by District of Florence following the procedure at: https://duomo.firenze.it/it/guide-turistiche;
- Tourist Guides with actual group and upon specific request to the sales office writing to: ufficiovendite@duomo.firenze.it. Free admission is granted only to the Opera Duomo Museum and the Baptistery of San Giovanni.
- Giglio Pass: includes Opera Duomo Museum, Baptistery and the ancient Basilica of Santa Reparata. This ticket is exclusive for residents of Florence Metropolitan City on the first Sunday of the month, available only at the ticket office showing the ID Card.
- ICOM Members: ICOM members get free entrance at the Museum, just showing the ICOM card at the cash desk in Piazza San Giovanni no. 7. A free ticket is required to get inside the Museum. Opera can check the identity and deny the access if the name doesn’t match with the card holder.
5. PAYMENT
Entrance ticket can be paid at the ticket office by debit cards or credit cards; online only by credit cards exclusively by people of legal age.
It is clearly understood that in the case of a buyer under the age of (<18 years), the purchase contract will be considered validly finalized only and exclusively if the person exercising parental authority has viewed it and subsequently accepted the relative conditions. The visitor specifically acknowledges and accepts this. In this case, Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore is held free from any liability and / or future claim.
None of the admission tickets are modifiable, cancellable or refundable. Events such as adverse weather conditions, reasons of security and public order or other organizational or technical factors not attributable to Opera Santa Maria del Fiore could lead to
changes in opening hours, access methods (including ascent and descent), of residence times. Any liability of Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore in the presence of one of these situations is excluded.
Reservations for all visits may be subjected to cancellation due to liturgical celebrations or other extraordinary and organizational needs of Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore as well as for reasons of force majeure not attributable to Opera; these changes will be communicated as soon as possible by the staff assigned to the service by Website or by e-mail or through the contacts communicated at the time of booking, however any hypothesis of refund, in whole or in part, of the admission tickets is expressly excluded.
6. VALIDITY
All admission tickets are valid for 72 hours (3 calendar days), starting from midnight of the selected date of visit. Guided tours depend on the validity of the Pass purchased.
Tickets with time-slot reservation obligate to respect both data and time of visit, the other monuments included can be visited within 72 h (3 calendar days), with one entrance per monument. The validity of ticket run from midnight of the selected date of visit the monument reserved.
Giglio Pass for Florentine residents in the Metropolitan City, starting from midnight of the selected date of visit and is valid for 24h (one calendar day).
7. RULES OF CONDUCT
The purchase and / or use of admission tickets entails unconditional acceptance by law of these general conditions of sale, as well as of the rules of conduct that will be observed by the purchaser and / or visitors. During visits to the monumental complex by expressly exempting Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore for any damage, direct or indirect, that may derive from the execution of the Contract, also caused by third parties.
- No animals of any kind and size are allowed, except for guide dogs for the blind ones or supporting /aid animal if certified.
- Visitors are obliged to follow the itineraries, respect visiting times, opening and closing times, access modalities and provisions for the protection of the place and respect for its holiness.
- The Opera of Santa Maria del Fiore staff may refuse access to visitors wearing clothing that does not respect the religiosity and/or the prestige of the place.
- Mobile phones, tablets or similar, which might disturb the premises and its visitors, are permitted only if silenced and with the use of earphones.
- Please contact the staff for any photographic and audio-visual shooting. In any case, the use of flashes, portable tripods, drones and is forbidden. It is always forbidden to photograph inside the area reserved for the worshipers.
- It is forbidden to eat and drink inside the monuments.
The previously listed buildings are under the protection of the institution of artistic and cultural heritage and therefore, extreme caution and respect is recommended. For safety reasons, you are requested not to enter the terraces with shoes with heels or to wear shoes that are unsuitable for walking, as there are very narrow and steep passages. It is strictly forbidden to go up to the terraces, barefoot. Children (>12 years) must be accompanied by an adult (a person who is at least 18 years old) and held during the visit. You can go to the terraces with strollers and prams only and exclusively if they are closed. The path is difficult because there are steep connecting stairs and very narrow passages. Climbing the Dome and the Bell Tower is prohibited to minors (>18 years), unless accompanied by an adult.
It is reiterated that Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore is exempt from any liability for direct or indirect damages that may occur to visitors and / or to objects owned by them caused by using services, goods and museum areas made available within the places of the monumental complex, both individually and collectively. Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore is also exonerated from liability deriving from theft of property owned by visitors that have occurred in the museum areas and spaces.
We note that the safety measures are applied within the limits of the compatibility of nature and age of the buildings, with exemption from any consequent liability by the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, therefore extreme caution and respect is recommended.
8. ACCESS
In order to access and visit the monument, it is necessary to have a valid ticket. The staff will be allowed to check that visitors have purchased and currently possess a valid entrance ticket in the places of the monumental complex.
If the admission ticket was purchased from unauthorized for sale third-parties, or in case of theft, counterfeiting, or of the ticket not being legible (for reasons not attributable to Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore), copied or obtained in violation of the contract, the buyer:
- if he/she is at the entrance, shall not be allowed to enter the monumental complex;
- if, however, they are already inside the monumental complex, they will be accompanied to the exit.
For the above stated purposes, the admission ticket may not be resold for commercial purposes, traded, transferred or delivered for commercial, advertising or promotional purposes (by way of example but not limited to, contest prizes, sales by charities etc.) without having obtained the prior written consent by Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore through the Promotion Area.
Buyers may consult the Website, and / or contact the Information Office in order to find out the opening hours, possible variations of the dates, timetable or other elements relating to the opening of the monumental complex which will be disclosed only exclusively through these channels.
9. GENERAL PROVISIONS
The purchase agreement is ruled by Italian law and interpreted in accordance with that law. Any possible controversy arising from and / or in connection with the contract will be the exclusive competence of the Court of Florence. The contract will be valid and effective from the date of purchase of the single entry ticket and contextual receipt of payment by Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore. Since that moment the buyer will be subjected to these General Conditions.
